Tribute to John Derry

John Derry was the first Briton to exceed the speed of sound flying a de Havilland research aircraft in September 1948, only to be killed four years later (on the 6th September, 1952), when his twin boom fighter broke up in the air at the Farnborough airshow. For much more on this pilot and many others, pay us a visit on (you may comment over there, so please do!) John Derry fut le premier Britannique à dépasser le mur du son à bord de l’avion
