Tianzi Mountain: The Mountains are quartz sandstone and were formed about 400 million years ago through irregular rising patterns of the earths crust, and with about 318 million years of erosion these tall and skinny mountains were formed. Furthermore, the erosion has created distinct, stratified layers that have developed different coloring and shape over the years of exposure to the elements. Meanwhile, younger and less eroded mountains also dot these mountains, further contributing to the unique variety of mountain formations found here. The stream, with 7.5 km’s length, is named after one of the 10 wonders of Zhangjiajie - Golden Whip Rock. Golden Whip Stream Scenic area has various kinds of plants and animals, and peaks and rocks of different appearances alongside. The trail along the stream is the most stunning hiking trail in Wulingyuan. Yellow Stone Village: Zhangjiajie Huangshizhai or Yellowstone Village has an altitude of 1,080 meters. Instead of a village, it is actually a square shaped plateau formed by quartz sand. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. Surrounded by cliffs, the flat top of Huangshizhai or Yellowstone Village has an area of​​ 16.5 hectares with the largest and the most beautiful observation deck overlooking the sandstone mountains. Yangjiajie Scenic Area: Yangjiajie is a newly developed area of the park. It is the least-crowded area, with spectacular scenery and challenging hiking.
