We made this leather tool bag by hand using natural vegetable tanned leather and solid brass rivets. The bag is hand sewn with Ritza Tiger thread, and the vegetable tanned leather is treated with mink oil. There are many ways to make this traditional leather tool bag design. For this leather tool bag, we did a riveted bottom gusset with stitched sides. For the Leather Tool Bag handles, we used the same 7-8oz vegetable tanned leather in 3/4“ strapping, which was burnished and waxed for a comfortable feel. We then installed a snap closure on the leather tool bag which, along with the straps that wrap under the entire bag to provide support, keeps the handmade leather tool bag closed and secure.
