GAME RECAP: Penguins at Wild () | Crosby and Smith Find the Back of the Net

Prior to tonight’s game in Minnesota, the Wild organization honored former Penguins goaltender and three-time Stanley Cup champion Marc-Andre Fleury for becoming the fourth goalie in NHL history to play 1,000 games and and securing 552 career wins, moving past Patrick Roy (551 career wins) for second-most all-time among NHL goaltenders. Boldy scored first for the Wild just after the midway point of the opening period with a power-play goal. Just a few minutes into the 2nd period, Reilly Smith scored his ninth of the season on a one-timer off a cross-ice pass from Evgeni Malkin. Shortly after, Brodin gave Minnesota the advantage once again, 2-1. Only 61 seconds into the 3rd period, Sidney Crosby’s deflection from one knee went in behind Wild netminder Fleury to tie things up, 2-2, on the power play. However, it would be the Wild who went on to break the tie and win the game, with Kaprizov scoring his 20th of the season.
