Paragliding Above the Summit of Matterhorn (4478m)

A dream comes true, summiting Matterhorn by paraglider. Often covered in clouds, Matterhorn is one of those mountains in Switzerland which are very difficult to fly over. But the heat wave these days combined with its dry air and insanely high cloud base combined with northerly winds created the perfect conditions to soar up on the North Face of the probably most famous mountain in Switzerland. Takeoff was at Gornergrat where thermals were not too great, but once reached the other side of the Matter Valley, it was easy to climb up to the legally allowed 4000m and fly in the direction of the Matterhorn. While the thermals in the valley were not that smooth, soaring up the North Face of the Matterhorn was a pure delight, which allowed me to examine many of the details of this impressive mountain.
