Teddy Bear Museum in Jeju (Cheju) Korea

As crazy as it may seem, visiting the Teddy Bear Museum in Jeju (Cheju) Island was a fun experience and the cost of entrance was affordable. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it with the family. While the trip was for adults, I can see family members bringing their kids to this museum. The museum is well layed out and walking around the museum is well thought out - From bears dressed as historical figures, to entertainers, to Korean TV shows. The popularity of Teddy Bears has allowed the museum to expand outside of Jeju Island to other locations like NamSan (Seoul) Tower to even Hawaii. The Teddy Bear origins starts with our US President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt. During one of the hunting trips, President Roosevelt’s attendants tied a bear cub to a tree for the president to shoot. The president found the act to be “un-sportsmanlike“ and refused to shoot the cub. A stuffed animal toy bear was created sometime after this incident and named, “Teddy’s Bear.&qu
