(Audio Compression) Using A Side Chain Compressor On Delays | Settings
Puremix Mentor Ben Lindell shows you one of the best tricks when dealing with FX tracks, using a side-chain compressor! Audio compression is necessary in modern music. How many times have you used delay settings or any other effect to enhance a track? Many. Other times, no setting really sounds like that favorite record of ours. It’s easy to turn something dry into something cloudy, muddy, or over-processed. Sidechaining and sidechain compression can be confusing.
This technique will allow you to achieve more clarity and obtain a perfect balance between the source and the enhancement effect. On the other hand, side-chain expansion will make it possible for you to achieve that special, creative sound that is often heard in today’s records and not always easy to identify and emulate!
