Chinese defence chief Li Shangfu responds to incidents involving China, US military ships and planes

Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu responded to questions regarding recently published incidents involving China, US military ships and airplanes at a session at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. These incidents always happen near China’s territorial water or airspace, and not near some other country’s territorial water or airspace, because Chinese military never exercise the ’hegemony of navigation’ in the name of ’freedom of navigation’ near other countries’ territorial water or airspace, Li said. Recently, US military have accused a Chinese J-16 fighter jet of ’unprofessional’ interception of a US spy plane over the South China Sea, and a Chinese Navy ship of maneuvering in an ’unsafe manner’ near an American destroyer transiting the Taiwan Strait. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
