What Does the Torah Mean by Comparing Man to a Tree? | Kabbalist’s View with Dr. Michael Laitman

The pandemic showed us how much we are dependent on each other and on Nature. The Torah teaches that “man is a tree of the field,” meaning we are connected to and grow from the general Nature. The vegetative is the first degree of development emerging from the dead--the inanimate level--to alive. As we grow from the inanimate degree, we develop the force of love between all parts of reality through love, connection, and reproduction, using inanimate elements. The vegetative is the foundation of the live world, The right, mutual connection already the connection of love, and we need to become like that foundation.
