10th Battalion county of London Regiment headquarters - Mare Street, Hackney, London. Two different scenes here: British military camp/soldiers marching on street in Hackney. Opens with GV camp; with many tents spreading out over large area. Messenger; in a hurry; approaches; stops and salutes someone off screen right; and hands an envelope to the person; then stands there waiting. Another young soldier runs up salutes; and turns around and leaves again; ending up standing a short distance away. Then several soldiers all run up at once and form a line. Officer at left facing the 6 men;then pan along the row of soldiers; all opening up some sort of books or notepads A sort of small parade in Hackney approaching on street. Some young boys in FG. Marching band; then Army approach camera and pass by; as other people walk along sidewalk next to the marchers. Following the soldiers; regular traffic: horse and buggy; a man pushing a cart.
