What I Wish My Therapist Told Me | A Buddhist Monk’s Reflection Many years ago before becoming a Buddhist monk in Thailand, I had the opportunity to meet with a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) therapist to deal with the feeling of being socially awkward. This video recounts my time with my therapist and looking back now, this is what I wish my therapist would have told me. For anyone who is going through a difficult time or struggling in some way, I hope my experience and insight can provide you with another way of looking at your situation. Now as a Buddhist monk, I wanted to share my reflection in this current moment. I hope you enjoy. #monk #monks #mentalhealth 0:00 Intro 1:20 My issue 3:56 My therapy session 5:02 [#1 What is my true nature?] 6:01 [#2 The way I was designed is ok] 7:00 [#3 Nurture your true nature] 7:53 [#4 Put yourself in the right setting] 8:47 My weakness was my biggest strength 13:16 why am I sharing this? 13:35 The analogy of the rose 17:28 Looking at suffering from Buddhist lens
