Today it’s 80 years ago that the airborne invasion of Crete took place. To commemorate this turning point in warfare considering airborne troops, I made a history video about it, using the Forgotten Hope 2 map. This video starts out with an explanation of the flagnames of the map, then follows with the preparations for the invasion and then describes the events in the western sector of Crete day by day. Since most of the fighting took place there on the first few days, the emphasis is on that period. I have also visited Crete myself and used some pictures I took there in this video.
