Various shots at an American broadcasting station show students from Harvard and Radcliffe Universities taking part in a spelling bee over the airwaves. Commentator says the cameras were banned from filming the BBC section of the newsreel in London. Students wearing large NBC placards around their necks come up to the microphone and spell word given by the opposite team over the airwaves. Lord Oxford of Oxford University is heard spelling a word over the airwaves.
A small group of American students pose with the radio announcer as he declares the American team has won the bee with 28 points to 24.
