Launch time: 6:54 am EDT (10:54 UTC) Launch site: Arnhem Space Centre, Australia (Equatorial Launch Australia) Destination: Suborbital launch Dual-channel Extreme Ultraviolet Continuum Experiment (DEUCE) will observe α Centauri A and B. DEUCE will measure a so-far unstudied part of their extreme ultraviolet light spectrum. These measurements are needed to model stars similar to and smaller than our Sun, as well as understand their effects on planetary atmospheres. Delayed from July 4. DEUCE will launch from Equatorial Launch Australia’s multi-user spaceport, Arnhem Space Centre, located in the Northern Territory at 12° S latitude. Black Brant 9 is a two stage sounding rocket with a Terrier first stage and Black Brant second stage. The Black Brant 9 can reach altitudes of about 600 km.
