Russian Airliner signed the first firm contract for the supply of 52 MS-21 and SSJ-100 aircraft

The Sukhoi Superjet project originally aimed at creating a modern and efficient regional jet that could compete with established models like Boeing and Airbus. Sukhoi Superjet 100, or simply SSJ100 quickly became a symbol of Russian engineering prowess. In 2022, Russian aviation industry faced significant challenges due to Western sanctions imposed on the country following its special military operation in Ukraine. The restrictions made it difficult for Russian airlines to procure essential aircraft parts, leading to the grounding of several planes.
