A NASA Spacecraft Circling Jupiter Has Just Detected Something Huge Happening For The First Time

An image was captured by a spacecraft flying 19,000 feet above Jupiter’s cloud and was provided by NASA. Lightning in clouds carrying an ammonia and water mix is responsible for the green light, according to scientists. Lightning strikes on Earth are caused by clouds that contain water vapor. On Jupiter, however, it occurs because of a mixture of ammonia and water. This image was captured on December 30, 2020, during the spacecraft’s 31st flyby as part of the Juno mission.
