New Law Preventing Furniture Tip-Overs Goes Into Effect
Heart-stopping video shows twin brothers in Utah climbing a dresser until it falls over. The toddler then pushes the heavy furniture off his brother. Although the incident happened in 2017, it’s being credited with bringing attention to the important issue of falling furniture. Now, a new law named the STURDY Act is going into effect. Beginning today, furniture manufacturers are compelled to run stability tests to make sure their furniture will not tip over.
