WTF happened to the Dog? a #story about spring

The dog has allergies. I grew up with mixed breed mutts. Animal shelter rescues and strays that showed up for table scraps and Ole’ Roy Dog Food. My Dad took in as many as thirteen at one time. So I’m not used to “foo foo” dogs that get things like “allergies” and “sensitivities.” I mean, what would their wolf forebears think?!? Every now and then, Gus gets a feel for the call of the wild. It lasts around 25 seconds until he hears someone walk to the kitchen. Or wants someone to walk to the kitchen. Then it’s off to the races for a game of patient waiting underfoot. He makes a good rug though. And a lap dog, which I suppose he is, and despite the allergies, and messed up teeth and occasional ear mites and itching he is a GOOD boy. Most dogs are. At least that’s my take on it. My morning involves a vet visit where Gus gets a prescription for his allergies and an exam.
