Zimbabwe’s president slams sanctions as policy tool of the West

Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa has branded economic sanctions a ’foreign policy tool’ used by the West, in his address to the UN general assembly, as the EU withdrew financial support –$5 million worth– from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, citing lack of independence and transparency in the state’s upcoming polls. We hear from political analyst Kudzai Mutisi, who says the EU’s latest move is motivated by the bloc’s self-serving interests.
