Zimbabwe’s president slams sanctions as policy tool of the West

Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa has branded economic sanctions a ’foreign policy tool’ used by the West, in his address to the UN general assembly, as the EU withdrew financial support –$5 million worth– from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, citing lack of independence and transparency in the state’s upcoming polls.
