“Noah’s Ark On Wheels“ (1932)

Full Title reads: “Dunstable - “Noah’s Ark on Wheels“ - brings animals of Bostock’s famous Menageries - after 127 years ’on the road’ - to ’their journey’s end’ & retirement, for the rest of their lives at Whipsnade.“ Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Carriages brought into railway siding. One of the wagons bears the words “Britain’s Most Popular Exhibition“. People stand to watch the arrival of the train. Men lift covers of wagon with polar bear and other creatures inside. C/U polar bear behind bars. He is drinking from a bowl. Elephants and camels have been unloaded from wagons. Two dromedaries unloaded from wagon. C/U heads of the dromedaries. The elephants and dromedaries are walked along the street. Cars pass by. At the crossroads a road sign is clearly seen. It shows distances along the A5 to London and St. Albans and to other destinations. Most importantly is a big pointer “To The Zoo“. People are gathered at the side of the street to watch this unusual procession go by. Steam powered traction engine
