‘Candy’ was Ash’s fourth single from their third full length album ‘Free All Angels’ and the band’s tenth Top 20 single. Inspired by The Wedding Singer (Adam Sandler / Drew Barrymore) the video was directed by Jeff Thomas (‘Burn Baby Burn’ and ‘Sometimes’) and filmed in Elstree Studios London with “cameos” from Michael Jackson, Robert De Niro and George Michael. The band wore the suits from video when making their fourth appearance on the BBC’s Top of the Pops of 2001. ‘Candy’ samples the Walker Brothers Make It Easy On Yourself.
