Vietnam War VPAF MiG-19S (Shenyang J-6) action

Rare action footage from old war vietnamese movie with the venerable MiG-19S (Shenyang J-6) of the Vietnam People`s Air Force. VPAF operated Shenyang J-6s mainly with 925 Fighter Regiment based in Yen Bai. The unit was created in 1969 and used a mix of MiG-17s and MiG-19s. With only a handful of 54 Shenyang J-6s supplied in 1968-69 still operational by the autumn of 1972, VPAF ’Farmer’ operations quitely fizzled out. The 925 was re-equipped with 24 J-6s in 1974. Following the arrival of this aircrafts the regiment manned a two aircraft alert flight at Yen bai tasked to defending north-western Hanoi.
