Vigils for the victims of the attack on Charlie Hebdo

Vigils were held in several North American cities on Wednesday night, following the terror attack on a French satirical newspaper that left ten journalists and two police officers dead. A crowd in Montreal held up pictures of the slain journalists and chanted ’Je Suis Charlie’ (we are Charlie) in honor of the newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Large rallies were also held in New York City’s Union Square and outside the French consulate in San Francisco. Many people talked about the importance of standing up for free
