Giovanni Battista Viotti - Tema e variazioni in do maggiore (best known as “La Marseillaise“)

Viotti composed it in 1781, just eleven years before that “La Marseillaise“ was created by Claude De Lisle - who never signed the score as usual. In 1792, when De Lisle changed the original score into “La Marseillaise“ and gave it to the major of Strasbourg, Viotti was in England to escape the revolutionaries, because musician at the court of the queen Marie Antoinette. He died in London in 1824.
