In Japan, the phoenix is called hō-ō (鳳凰).The Phoenix has long been presented as a symbol of rebirth and some traditions it appears in good times while in other traditions it appeared only to mark the beginning of a new era.A phoenix is a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of purple, blue, and this horimono depicted whit some cherry blossoms (Sakura 桜) and a peony (Botan 牡丹).All the work has been done using the traditional japanese tattoo method of Tebori.
