Australia will ‘stop any new coal mines’ from being created to reduce emissions

Herald Sun Business Commentator says Australia being required to reduce emissions will lead to Australia having to “stop any new coal mines” from being created. “Scope three emissions, are the emissions that are generated or emitted when the coal is actually used – that makes us responsible for the emissions that are going to be emitted in the countries that are going to be using our coal,” Mr McCrann said. “Requiring us to reduce them, basically means we’ve got to destroy any ability to have a new coal mine.”
