The game is based on DC Comics’ Batman comics and is the second installment in the Batman: Arkham franchise, following on from 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum. It was written by Paul Dini, co-written by Paul Crocker and Sefton Hill. In the story, Batman is imprisoned in the Arkham City open-air prison, which consists of the urban slums of Gotham City.
