The Majesty Of The Law (1932)

Full title reads: “Kingston-on-Thames. The Majesty of the Law - and ’a little bit of old England’ as, with traditional ceremony (despite the modern motor cars), Mr Justice Hawke open the Assizes.“ Kingston on Thames, Surrey. Two soldiers from the 8th King’s Irish Hussars regiment ride across the bridge over the River Thames in Kingston. Half way across they turn and play a salute on their trumpets. Cars are driving over the bridge while this happens. The two soldiers on their horses sound their salute in the market square. A few people stop to watch. Tilt down tower - a British Union Jack flag flies from the top. As the Church bells are ringing out the camera tilts down. A parade of choirboys and civic dignitaries are coming out of the Church. Mr Justice Hawke in his full judges regalia gets into a car parked at the Church gate. The soldiers and mounted policemen lead the car through the streets to the court / assizes. Mr Justice Hawke gets out of the car and walks into the court building.
