This has been a hard film to see for years, in spite of its two beloved leads. Set against the backdrop of the Cuban Missile Crisis, it’s a gentle comedy-drama about a single mom who moves her family to a small town, along with her eccentric aunt, a former magician. When a prank is misinterpreted, the family finds themselves at the center of unwanted attention.
