Grids will change your photographic life. I don’t feel hyperbolic saying that! Grids give you an incredible amount of control that will allow you to fundamentally change the way you light a subject and scene. In this video, I explore the main ways that grids provide you control, and then in the end I put them all together in a beautiful, dimensional fashion shoot. What are grids? Grids attach to modifiers and/or lights to restrict the spread of light. They can be powerful to create tight pockets of light or prevent light from hitting the background. They can be used for softboxes, beauty dishes, zoom reflectors, and more.
