Developed by Swedish soldiers in the 17th century, this is still one of the most efficient ways to build a long lasting fire that you can cook on, with just a single log. Nowadays it’s WAY more practical to use a twig, gas or alcohol stove, but it’s still a really neat bit of history and an extremely handy thing to know how to make 👍. There are many different ways to make your own, this just happens to be the method I use which only requires tools I would normally take camping with me in the woods. If you don’t have wire, a thin green branch or roots also works well to hold everything together.
