ODENSE | Denmark by Drone in 4K - DJI Mavic Air 2

I wasn’t so sure what to expect from Odense other than that it is the birthplace of famed Danish author Hans Christian Andersen (who wrote ‘The Little Mermaid’ among other tales). I was making my way towards Copenhagen to meet my parents after departing from Aarhus when I decided to check out this city in between. The city was small, but very pleasant, easily walkable, and had plenty to offer. I could have easily spent a few days here but my time was limited. I took my drone out for a few flights and loved what I saw from the air in Odense. To summarize, Odense is the 3rd largest city in Denmark and started off as a settlement 4,000 years ago. The city is small and cozy with plenty of landmarks like Odense Castle, H.C. Andersen House, Munke Mose, Ansgar Kirke, St. Canute’s Cathedral, Eventyrhaven, and Møntergården. For more information on my trip to Odense, be sure to check out my blog post below: Be sure to check out my other youtube videos on spots in Denmark below: Copenhagen - Odense - Aarhus - Drone laws in Denmark: In order to fly your drone in Denmark, you should have a A1/A3 certification in the OPEN category in any EU member state (I have one from Sweden). This allows you to fly (under certain restrictions) within other EU countries. The standard rules apply such as flying within visual line of sight, not flying at night, only 120 meters in elevation, and not over crowds or sensitive infrastructure. Furthermore, other restrictions may also be enacted by the Danish Transport Authority. I used their official drone map on their website to plan my overflights beforehand.
