Eaten Alive at McCoys Rapid on the Mighty Ottawa River!!!

We spent a few hours hanging out at McCoys . . . the first rapid of the Ottawa River whether you run the Main or Middle Channel. McCoys Rapid is home to the famous Phils Hole, Corner Wave and Horseshoe Holes that were starting to form. The Level was 3.5 when we first arrived to the rapid and dropped in a few hours to Level 2 . . . getting very near to summer levels. There is always a lot happening on the Ottawa especially on a weekend . . . we saw Rafts, Kayakers, Squirt Boaters, Open Boaters, some National Geographic worthy wildlife encounters and of course a little carnage!!!. Some well known paddlers could be seen like Matt Hamilton, Alex Barham and Benny Marr doing there thing on different features as well as Kawartha Whitewater Paddlers Club and some groups from the City of Ottawa. It was a great day and a great level!!!
