Royal Tour (1942)

Titles read: “ROYAL TOUR“. North Wales and the Midlands. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) visit an aircraft factory. They watch an aircraft “fresh from the factory“ being tested. A crowd of factory workers run across the plant to catch a glimpse of the royals. The King and Queen get into their car and are driven off. At another ’walkabout’, the royal couple are greeted by crowds of cheering locals. A little boy in his mother’s arms gives a Union Jack flag to Queen Elizabeth. She chats to the mother and child, before handing the flag back to him. Brief shot of a crowd of children waving Union Jack flags. At Boscobel, the royals pose beneath the famous oak tree where Charles II his after his defeat at Worcester in 1651.
