Synthetic by The Midnight - cover by John Mitchell

I’ve recently had a strange burning desire to do some intimate low key gigs and began wondering what could be done with just a loop pedal, an octave pedal, an Eventide pedal (kindly donated by one Jem Godfrey) and a tatty old squire. I’ve seen Nik Kershaw do a similar thing live using loops, but I wondered if one could take it a step further messing around with tones/octaves and soundscapes. So I mucked around a bit seeing if all those used in conjunction could equate to the sound I imagined in my head. Ultimately it’s a bit of an experiment but it was fun to do and it might well all get incorporated into future live shizzle. I recorded the results for posterity over about 4 takes and then tidied it up a bit. The song is a synthwave song called Synthetic by The Midnight which is very dear to me as it fits in very well with the Lonely Robot vibe. I hope you like it!
