Rickenbacker 4003 Bridge vs. Hipshot Bridge

A quick, objective comparison between stock RIC bridge and the aluminum Hipshot replacement. The RIC bridge bugs me. The bridge itself is supported by two bolts and sort of floats so it’s easy to nudge out of place when changing strings. The foam damper is a cool idea but doesn’t work well and prevents palm muting. It also eats up extra “string“ before reaching the saddles so you don’t always benefit from certain strings like SR2000s (what I used here). There are no effects on the recording, just the amp sound.
