Contemporary Dance Class | Release | London Contemporary Dance School (full class live stream)

In this video you can follow along with our 3rd year students’ contemporary dance class. Live stream of Baptiste Bourgougnon’s release based technique with third year undergraduate students. Accompanied by Anna Gillespie (June 2019). The class starts with a simple warm up using bounces, forward stretches and rolls through the spine. This is followed by a tondu exercise with changes of direction. The students then have a swinging arm exercise that uses falling off balance and the floor. There is a corner phrase using turns, hops and travelling through the space. The students then explore floor work; twisting rolls, crouching runs, slow cartwheels and forward rolls. These are then combined into a floor phase from the side of the studio. The class is concluded with a long floor phrase incorporating shoulder rolls, handstands and folding through the hips. This phrase is sped up as the students get used to the movement. All of these students graduated the school in July 2019 and many are working for companies, teaching, working in independent projects and are freelance dance artists. Find out more about LCDS here:
