There exists, in an anonymous industrial estate near to one of Britain’s major airports, an Aladdin’s cave of JDM wonder. It’s called HJA (Harlow-Jap-Autos) and is run by two brothers who have grown it into an internationally renowned business that imports specialist Japanese models to the UK. You’ll find Imprezas, Evos, RX-7s and Supras inside, but HJA’s bread and butter is the Nissan Skyline GT-R. There’s always a full spectrum of R32, R33 and R34s on offer, from untouched standard cars to outrageous tuned models built by some of Japan’s premier tuning houses. When Top Gear Magazine’s Tom Ford visited, there was also a rather special NISMO CRS, Europe’s one and only, with a price tag not far shy of seven figures.
