Ukraine’s appointment of General Oleksandr Syrskyi as commander-in-chief has elicited mixed reactions from military personnel, Politico reported. The military shakeup by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has triggered despair in many of his troops. On hearing of his appointment, a Ukrainian soldier sent a message in a group chat of veterans of the Bakhmut fight: “We’re all f@#$ed”. Zaluzhny reportedly described Syrskyi as “a good, decent military man, with a lot of experience and a very good strategic vision of war”.
