Spain: —More than 1,200 migrants invade the Canary Islands, home to 11,000 Spaniards Officials say the sudden arrival of 7 boats carrying nearly 1,300 migrants is overwhelming the social services. The Canaries saw 14,976 migrants arrive between January 1 & September 30.
