Kislev, facing the overwhelming force of Chaos, has fragmented rapidly since the disappearance of their great leader, Boris Ursus, who united them. This division escalated with the sudden rise of Kostaltyn, a loyal follower of Boris and the newly ascended leader of the Orthodox Church of Ursun, who raised a rebellion against Boris’ daughter, Tzarina Katarin. Tzarina Katarin, being both a queen and a powerful ice mage, possessed formidable magical abilities. However, Kostaltyn resented Tzarina Katarin’s magical prowess, even considering her magic as heresy. To Kostaltyn, Tzarina Katarin’s position as queen, along with her magical abilities, symbolized a heretical force opposing the Orthodox Church of Ursun’s authority over Kislev. He believed that for Kislev to be saved from Chaos, the witches must not be allowed to control it. Eventually, he raised a rebellion against Boris’ daughter, Tzarina Katarin. Subsequently, Kislev fragmented, and amidst this division, the weakened Kislev fell victim to an invasion by Archaon Everchosen, the Chaos warrior. Tzarina Katarin found herself facing the vast Chaos army alone. However, her fight was not truly solitary. She had brave soldiers and people willing to lay down their lives willingly for their homeland and for Tzarina Katarin herself. Yet, the Chaos army before her was overwhelming.
