Drum Fire Dance (1957)

Wardour Street, London. M/S of musicians from the Ivor and Basil Kirtchen Band being given instructions by Ivor Kirtchen. Various shots of the band as they rehearse an arrangement of ’Jungle Fire Dance’ - quite good big band jazz. Basil Kirtchen on drums really goes for it, surrounded by flames - he must be pretty hot in that woolly jumper (you would not catch Gene Krupa in such an article). Ivor conducts with gusto. Good shots of a big band at rehearsal. Note: official title of the number being played may be ’Jungle Jive Dance’. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
