In 2020, Rotterdam-born Noah van Putten realised his artistic vision after a psychedelic experience, and his moniker Talee was born. He emerged onto the scene with his remix of Belgian Trance DJ Jonas Steur’s ‘Fall To Pieces’, landing straight into Spotify’s New Music Friday Dance and showcasing his unique indie-dance style. Following a successful debut, Talee released his first double A-sides in 2022 on Moscoman’s Berlin-based label Disco Halal, and subsequently toured the projects at over 20 live shows across the Netherlands. Over the past year, Talee has been moving through the Anjuna ecosystem, with James Grant and Jody Wisternoff featuring his track ‘My Mother Was A Synthesizer’ on their Anjunadeep 15 compilation. Talee also put his indie-dance spin on Croquet Club’s Reflections single ‘Don’t Say’, and performed a full live set at Anjunadeep’s Explorations festival in Albania in the summer of 2024. Citing LCD Soundsystem, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and James Blake among his influences, Talee draws from a wide range of artists, but has created a sound distinctly his own. On his ‘One Step At A Time EP’, he blends heavy electronic basslines with nonchalant vocal hooks with an indie edge across four diverse tracks. “‘One Step At A Time’ symbolises slowly getting to know your inner child and finding your creative spark in life. Playing, feeling and exploring your most innocent and foolish endeavours and integrating these experiences to take your next steps in life. Meeting your divine playing partner.” Talee’s ‘One Step At A Time EP’ arrives September 13 on Anjunadeep.
