Emery - Said Enough

Off the album RUB SOME DIRT ON IT, available now — “This album was created from a desire for something real, raw, and intense. We worked out the songs in this room together over a couple of weekends, set a recording date and went home and practiced and finished the lyrics. We returned to this same space a few weeks later, did one full day of setup and rehearsal, and then captured the album in a hyper focused two hour span with our own recording equipment and a full camera crew. In post-production, we did some minor editing and a handful of musical punches and overdubs, and re-tracked a good amount of the lead vocals to recreate the live performance but with no bleed — allowing us to create this full-quality audio master recording while retaining it’s raw live energy and spontaneity.“ - Matt Carter, Emery || Follow Emery || Facebook: Instagram: Twitter: Spotify: Apple Music: __ I’m not sure I love you What a thing to say It sounded strange in the moment But I knew what was happening Will I be by myself Come on think of something else You’ve fixed this before so fix it again You said enough You said enough The words just come so easy I’m scared that I won’t find the bottom of this well It never was. It never was Supposed to be us But maybe this proves us right for being wrong Turned into another sad love song And like Fred said I’ve got a bad feeling about this How small you make me feel when I can’t get through to you at all I should have seen this coming (You didn’t deserve the things I put you through) Nothing lasts forever maybe this was too good to be true Sleep will come for both of us but baby I don’t want to see tomorrow You said enough You said enough. The words just come so easy I’m scared that I won’t find the bottom of this well It never was. It never was Supposed to be us And maybe this proves us right for being wrong Turned into another sad love song We built this boat together Sink or swim I’m by your side I can’t promise you forever Let’s just start, start with tonight It’s easy to live on the surface Hold your tongue and your regrets But I don’t want to be this lonely Anymore I want to see the brightness back in your eyes You said enough You said enough The words just come so easy I’m scared that I won’t find the bottom of this well It never was. It never was Supposed to be us And maybe this proves us right for being wrong Turned into another sad love song
