In order to make ends meet, he had to do the unimaginable and sell his best friend, a bull mastiff dog, for $25 Inspired by a Muhammad Ali fight, he began to write a 90 page Rocky script, which he finished in just 3 days. He pitched the idea to producers, and they were impressed. They offered him hundreds of thousands of dollars, but under one condition: he couldn’t star in the movie. Sylvester turned down the offer. After a few failed attempts, the producers finally agreed, but at a much lower deal of $35,000. With that money, Sylvester went on a mission to track down his dog.
