Hair Styles Beware (1956)

Knightsbridge, London. C/U of model Susan Beck with a hairstyle designed by Biagio; her hair is swept off her face to form a cone at the back of her head, from which hangs a piece of maroon chiffon fabric. Behind her left ear is a roll of hair. M/S of Biagio himself, taking some geometric-shaped curlers out of Margaret Prior’s hair. This ’do’ involves four square ’curls’ around the top of the head; the rest of the hair is swept back; Biagio removes a gold wire gauze cone from the top of Margaret’s hair to reveal a ’hair cone’ beneath; there is another hair cone behind her right ear. The effect is somewhat Taiwanese. Commentator asks “How does she take her new hairstyle to bed?“.
