PAGANINI Caprice No. 9 “La caccia“ | Svetlin ROUSSEV & Nicolas BALDEYROU

SACRILEGIOUS ARRANGEMENT #5 Dear friends, I hope you’re well! Today’s sacrilege is dedicated to Paganini this time! 😁 As my friend Svetlin ROUSSEV recently recorded the whole cycle of Caprices, we thought it was a very good occasion to propose an alternative version for the famous Capriccio No. 9, « La caccia » (the hunt). The Caprices where written between 1802 and 1817 and La caccia is the only one where the composer ask for mimesis, trying to imitate the flutes and the hunting horns. So why not create an ensemble and an accompaniment to recreate the kind of atmosphere Paganini was imagining ? 😇 You will hear a « chiffonie », a medieval small hurdy-gurdy, 2 recorders, 2 natural horns, a baroque drum, and of course a bunch of clarinets from the Bb to the contrabass. If you don’t know Svetlin, feel free to check his YouTube Channel @SvetlinRoussev and all his albums, he’s definitely one of the most sought-after virtuoso of his generation and I had the privilege to be his colleague many years ago when he was the concertmaster of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. I hope you will like this unexpected arrangement of the piece, let me know what you think in the comments! Take care and see you soon for a next video! ❤️ #wearebuffet #buffetcrampon #vandoren #windensemble #paganini #paganini caprice #violin
