The Stickney Charleston (1926)

Robert Stickney and partner from the Piccadilly Revels and Kit Kat Club, perform the Stickney Charleston. “If you love the Charleston, don’t don’t try and do this one!“ C/U of two pairs of feet Charlestoning. C/U to show the man of the pair is dancing on very tall stilts. He has the white make up of a clown and a top hat and tails. L/S of the two dancing in front of a curtain backdrop. Comedy dancing ensues - it is pretty amazing how flexible the guy on stilts is. The woman climbs up onto a platform so that she can be the same height. They carry on dancing. She climbs onto his back and he dances off with her. Funny, quirky stuff. Was originally an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 274. Safety print exists.
