HISTORY MADE: Shenzhou-18 crew makes longest EVA record for Chinese spacewalk

NEW RECORD: Heart-pounding highlights of first EVA of Shenzhou-18 crew from edge of space, setting a new record for longest Chinese spacewalk. The Shenzhou-18 crew aboard China’s orbiting space station completed their first extravehicular activity on Tuesday, May 28. During their approximately spacewalk, taikonauts Ye Guangfu, Li Cong and Li Guangsu closely collaborated on tasks such as installing space station debris protection devices and conducting inspections of extravehicular equipment and facilities, completing them at 6:58 p.m. Beijing time on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. The taikonauts accomplished their mission with the coordinated support of the space station’s robotic arm and ground-based personnel.
