Nature Based Architecture with Ancient & Modern Technology

This custom design is inspired by traditional Icelandic & Scandinavian architecture and is adapted for cold climates.  Civilizations throughout the ages and across the planet have attempted to harness and utilize the power of nature in different ways. The “Turf-houses” of Iceland are an excellent example of how traditional buildings used nature-based solutions to naturally heat their homes. The thick outside stone walls and grass roofs were designed to keep the cold out, while the inside stone & earth walls were used to store temperatures. During cold days people would gather around an indoor fireplace that charged the interior walls with warm temperatures.
